Orthopedic Surgeon and Spine Surgery Specialist
Meet Dr. Christopher Kong
Christopher Kong, MD is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in spine surgery. Originally from Toronto, Canada, he completed his undergraduate studies at Queen’s University, Ontario, where he majored in Life Sciences. He then attended medical school at the University of Western Ontario, and completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.
Following residency, Dr. Kong completed two spine surgery fellowships – one at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, and another at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. This breadth of training has gained him expertise in not only traditional open spine surgical techniques, but minimally invasive and motion-sparing techniques as well. He has published multiple articles and textbook chapters on the topics of spinal deformity and minimally invasive spine surgery.
Dr. Kong’s philosophy is that all people are entitled to excellent health care. This starts first with listening to and understanding the patient, and then empowering them with the information they need to make an informed decision. Dr. Kong provides skilled, compassionate care to treat a broad range of complex spinal disorders.
